Barb Inwald joined Third Act because she was excited to be able to be part of the solution rather than fretting about the problem. She believes that we really need legislation for real change, and is also working on that through Third Act and other organizations. But, we can all make personal changes to move things in the right direction. She’s been an early adopter of solar energy and electrical vehicles, composting and recycling when they were new and is delighted to see how they have all bloomed and are now mainstream and making a difference. Plastic life-cycle issues are also very dangerous globally and a priority for activism for her. Barb is in the process of transitioning all her financial products to being climate friendly and is looking forward to working together with others in this journey.

Becky Shirley (she, her pronouns) is a former middle and high school teacher, whose love of nature guided her to climate advocacy upon retirement. She withdrew her checking and savings from Wells Fargo in 2012, and with inspiration from Third Act and support from THIS! Is What We Did, changed her credit cards from Bank of America. After verifying no fossil fuel funding status, her money and credit card is now with a local credit union in Sonoma County. She is sleeping better these days.

Michael Richardson is co-founder of Rivers & Mountains GreenFaith, an inter-faith group of climate activists in the upper Hudson Valley of New York State in coalition with Stop the Money Pipeline, Third Act, and GreenFaith. He is also facilitator of TH!RD ACT Upstate New York and is on the steering committee of NY Renews, the force behind the landmark NYS Climate Act. From a varied cache of experiences – including organic farmer, solar heating contractor, labor economist, county legislator, and Buddhist practitioner – Michael is committed to bringing attention to the moral imperative to stop funding climate chaos.

Steve Lew joined Third Act to find people in his generation who were concerned, and purposeful about slowing climate destruction and in sustaining all life. He has also encouraged friends, co-workers and family to use credit unions and other ways to invest in local communities. In his paid labor, Steve is a leadership coach and trainer working with social justice nonprofits, and he enjoys supporting people to achieve their goals, vision and tapping into their inner strengths and power to reach their goals.
